Vacations to Greek Islands
June 26, 2025Games in the Village
Last Saturday, we had the chance to take our game to new heights—literally. The wonderful folks from High Mountains invited us to the Mountain School in Demati Village, where we could play and have fun. But let's start from the beginning.
We accepted the Mountain School of Demati's amazing invitation and organized a board gaming session with all our games. The villagers were kind enough to offer us the main plaza and provide fine, comfortable tables and chairs, creating the perfect gaming area. Under the shade of the trees and breathing in the cool mountain breeze, we set up Age of Rome, Paw by Paw, Restart and Vacations to Greek Islands and people started to come. Some came specifically for the event, which made us really happy. As most were in the middle of their vacations, it made thematic sense to play our newest creation, Vacations to Greek Islands. After all, what could be more fitting than playing a vacation game on vacation?
The Age of Rome was also popular at the event, with many families and friends playing it. Aspiring emperors engaged in epic battles and the game's unexpected rivalry and competition amazed everyone. One battle deserves special mention: a seven-year-old boy named Ioannis beat his father and another adult player. It was a memorable victory. Okay, maybe the young emperor received some help from the designers, but he still won fairly. He devised a simple strategy to achieve a few secret objectives and surprise his rivals. Congratulations, Ioannis! We're glad you enjoyed playing Age of Rome with your father.
But the day wasn't just about board games. Dear Akis, an amateur pasta chef, was kind enough to bake amazing pizzas for everyone. Made with homemade ingredients from Demati's garden, the pizzas featured mushrooms, pesto sauce, tomato sauce and peppers. Thank you so much, Akis!
Overall, it was a fun and relaxing experience. It was a chance to bring people together for an outdoor activity and away from today's digital world. This is what we believe in and we will always support these kinds of events! We envision kids playing in village gardens and parks, families united under the shade of old trees and people creating communities of support and kindness. Until next time, keep playing board games and try to make the world a better place.
