Hackathon

A very special event took place a few days ago in Ioannina and Teetotum was honored to participate. The High Mountains organization organized the first Hackathon of cooperation and synergies and we would like to share our experience as participants.

Following the successful format of other Hackathon marathon events, the people of The High Mountains created a truly special event. They brought together teams from all around Epirus and connected them with experienced mentors, creating the perfect environment for collaboration. Seven ideas from different organizations and workgroups were presented at the Hackathon to be shared and discussed. Throughout the day, mentors and entrepreneurs had the chance to chat, exchange advice and explore their ideas to move forward. The goal was to develop a plan of investment for their project through marketing and management tools, such as Canvas. Each team's cost, production, marketing and, of course, the viability of their proposed product or service were studied and each team gave a presentation. At the end of the day, the presentations were introduced to a judging committee.

We had the chance to present our idea for modern games in public spaces. These are games that can bring children and adults back out into the streets instead of keeping them closed off in a digital environment. At Teetotum, we believe that games can change the world. They can provide children with new ways to learn and bring us all together. The mentors were thrilled by our idea and contributed greatly to our efforts to determine the best format for the project. The debate was amazing and many new ideas and suggestions helped move the project forward. Finally, we created a short presentation to explain our main goal to the judges.

Although our idea didn't make it to the top three, we had the pleasure of meeting amazing people who wanted to get involved and help us make the project a reality. A few new appointments were made and we are optimistic that we will be able to start creating a pilot in the coming days. We promise to keep you updated on any new developments.

Overall, games, especially board games, are and should always be a part of our culture. They have so much to offer and we must promote them in every way possible. Playing games brings us together, fosters kindness in young minds and cultivates a sense of caring for one another. Board games contribute to a better world.
