Amazing Start for Restart
March 2, 2026Restart Prototype Testing
We finally received the prototypes of Restart a few days ago after a small adventure with the Greek customs. We not only checked the prototypes for mistakes, but we also missed playing, so we decided to playtest the prototype in full. And it was really fun!
First, let's take a closer look at the components. We made some major changes, so we're eager to see if they work. Yes, they do! With a few minor exceptions, such as stickers, miniature bases, and the corner radius of card cuts, all components are top quality, and we are very pleased. While playing, we had the chance to see all the changes that were made to make the game more fluid and fast-paced. There were changes to the size and material of the components. We'll keep this short and won't include too many details so as not to bore you. However, you can join the BGG thread if you want to learn more or have more questions.
With almost three months to play the game, we got off to a slow start, trying to remember the best strategies and combos. Antonis and Vangelis made some tactical mistakes, as if they were not the designers. This is, of course, part of the game—a part that we really like—as you can never be sure that a particular strategy will guide you to victory. Everything changes in each session, so the decisions you make should be based on instinct and momentum. George from The Board Game Goblin made some pretty good moves, but he didn't fully exploit his character's abilities, which left him a bit behind. Dimitris, on the other hand, focused on accomplishing missions, and he could have won if we hadn't run out of Time tokens at the end.
Overall, the prototypes are great, and the gameplay is even better with these changes to the components. The next step is to ship the prototypes to reviewers so we can start getting feedback and share more. Stay tuned!
