The Tariff Fever

Is it just me, or does the world seem to be spinning around tariffs these days? Countless times a day I see and read people talking about the cost of US tariffs and how they will affect the global board game industry. The percentages keep rising higher than a 40 degree fever. Will it end soon? Probably not. Is it the end of the board game industry? Of course not.

First of all, let us be clear, as indie publishers we can only speak from our own small experience and some of you may find what we have to say irrelevant, but remember that this is only one perspective and not the whole picture of the situation we face.

For small indie publishers like us, the tariff issue is more serious than it seems. We already struggle to make a profit from our crowdfunding campaigns while trying to invest in the retail market. Making games even more expensive to distribute is not going to make things any better. But with every problem comes an opportunity for new ideas. And that new idea for us is called Teetotum 99, a project of print and play games that we have either already published or plan to publish soon.
