Teetotum at PLAY club of the University of Ioannina

It is always refreshing and vibrant to be among young minds looking for challenges. That is why Teetotum Game Studios immediately accepted the invitation of ΠΛΕΙ (pronounced PLAY), the University Board Game Club of Ioannina. In cooperation with the president of the club and some of its most active members, Teetotum Game Studios managed to present the beginning of their endeavor step by step.

ΠΛΕΙ club was founded on October '23 and its goal is to bring together people interested in board games and other similar activities. Anyone can visit the Youth Creative Center of the University of Ioannina the place where ΠΛΕΙ club organizes its meetings every Saturday from 14:00 to 20:00.

In the presentation, which took place in the amphitheater of the University of Ioannina Library, Teetotum Game Studios explained the process they followed as a new indie company to design, promote and produce their first game "Age of Rome". With a minimal budget and not much time available, as the founders Antonios Yannopoulos and Vangelis Efthimiou were also working full time as IT consultants, they managed to accomplish the task in a quite successful level. "Age of Rome" was released on Kickstarter in April '23 and was successfully funded by more than two thousand people from more than fifty countries around the world.

In a few words, Teetotum Game Studios explained the four stages of creating a project. Design - Development - Production - Fulfillment. Through an interactive and fun presentation, the young people came closer to understanding how their dream projects and plans can come to life with the help of a crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter. At the end, Teetotum Game Studios also talked about their new board game project "Restart", a tactical board game with a time travel theme, where the player takes on the role of a time traveler trying to save the world from an immense catastrophe. After the presentation, a small surprise awaited the members of ΠΛΕΙ and all those present. Teetotum Game Studios donated a copy of their game "Age of Rome", while board game tables were set up in the club's premises so that all attendees could try out the game. The fun continued as the evening drew to a close and everyone wished for more. With these last thoughts, the members of ΠΛΕΙ and Teetotum Game Studios agreed to meet again soon for another joyful day and evening.
